General
Matthews specializes in high volume runs of tags and stamped parts.
Most prices are based on minimum orders of 1000 tags, but we will produce
short runs. In addition, some tags are stocked in inventory for quick
delivery. Contact us for details.
Materials
We stock specific materials for each type of tag we produce. Custom materials,
gauges, and widths are available by quotation. Certain custom metals may
require a lengthy lead time from the mills, along with a minimum weight
order. When choosing the type of tag material you need, consider the end
use.

Steel, Enamel-Coated Steel, Electrogalvanized Steel or Mattlin
Tags subjected to harsh environments, exposure to salt air, chemicals,
caustics, cleaning products, abrasives or extreme temperature changes.
Aluminum,
Tinplate or Mattlin

temperatures.

Metal or Mattlin
Tags easy to write on with pen or pencil.

For those who make stencils, Matthews also stocks canary colored Oilboard
in .015” thickness. This is a tough, inexpensive oil-impregnated paper
available in machine cut sizes or hand cut to your specifications from
sheets or rolls. Prices available by quotation.

Up, Tooling & Die Charges
Beyond the tag price, there may be other charges to run an order.

ordered.

already.
Blanking
Die
Charge to have a steel die made to cut a new size or shape of tag.

and graphics. This die will be needed if there are any wording changes
on a new tag order that was previously run.
Printing

or paper-covered metal tags.
Logos
and Graphic Art
Matthews can reproduce your company logo or other art as embossed, indented

art at full size on a photostat at least 600 dpi. A price
for artwork adjustment will be quoted for artwork requiring touch-up or
enlargement/reduction.

any sequence). Unless advised otherwise, we will determine the method
of packaging.

Quoted prices generally do not include shipping charges. Prices are subject
to taxes assessed by the taxing authority at place of delivery. For resale
customers, we must have a sales tax exemption certificate on file for
the destination to which product will be shipped.
Payment
Terms
Net 30 days upon established credit. When no credit has been established,
a deposit of 50% is required with the order and balance will be shipped
C.O.D.
Order
Information and Acknowledgement
Matthews’ acknowledgement form will govern the transaction. Customer’s
acceptance will be considered final and binding, unless notification otherwise
is given within 5 days of order acknowledgement date. Orders with missing
or incorrect information will be scheduled for production upon receipt
of correct and complete information.
Blanket
Orders
Blanket orders are acceptable for tags produced over an agreed-upon period
of time where Matthews has quoted a fixed price for a total quantity of
tags. Matthews will ship releases as agreed upon, and will invoice customer
for each portion as it is shipped. In the event the customer must cancel
any part of a blanket order, Matthews will invoice the cancelled part(s)
at the quoted product price less any scrap credit for materials.
Order
Changes and Cancellations
All changes and cancellations on previously acknowledged orders must be
first phoned in to us and then followed up in writing. If we have followed
your specifications and you require a change, you are expected to pay
for any materials, dies and work completed which must be redone. Cancellations
are subject to all labor and material charges up to the time of cancellation.
Material
Overruns
On custom, large quantity orders of identical tags or stamped parts, Matthews
may overship product by 5% at pro rata billing.
Delivery
Quicker than normal schedules will be accommodated when our production
schedule allows. If air shipment is required to meet a faster than normal
schedule, the customer will be responsible for air shipment charges provided
the order ships by the agreed upon date.
Transit
Claims
We are not responsible for damage or loss in transit. The carrier, by
law, is an agent of the customer, and all claims for damage must be filed
by the consignee. Upon receipt, the customer must inspect for damage or
shortage. Claims for damage, concealed or otherwise, must be reported
to the carrier within 5 days from receipt of merchandise. If damaged goods
are received, it is important to retain the product, cartons, and packing
material in the exact condition as delivered until an inspector arrives
and completes a damage report.
Material
Acceptance
All claims for defects, errors, or shortage must be made within 10 days
after delivery. Failure to do so, shall constitute acceptance and a waiver
of any defects, errors, or shortages.
Returned
Goods
Return of material is not allowed without prior verbal or written authorization
by a Matthews’ Sales Service Representative. There is a restocking charge
on stock inventoried tag products.
Limited
Warranty
Matthews warrants its products to be free from defects in material and
workmanship for a period of one year from the date of initial delivery.
The warranty is made by Matthews only to purchasers acquiring the product
directly from the company, its authorized dealers, or others who are specifically
authorized by Matthews to sell such products. Matthews’ obligation and
the purchaser’s remedy pursuant to this warranty are limited to repair

prove under normal use to be defective within one year, which remedy is
expressly agreed to be exclusive as a condition of sale. No other warranty
expressed or implied is granted, and Matthews shall not be liable for
any incidental or consequential damages. No person, firm, or corporation
is authorized to assume for Matthews any other liability in connection
with the sale of our products.
